Comparing material properties
The design decision
These handwritten notes compare natural and synthetic rubber, including elasticity, ageing and environmental considerations. They also raise alternatives to Velcro, suction cups and hooks; the sheet records questions rather than a confirmed material specification.
Exploring the product form
What I set out to address
The sketch sheet records early shape and construction ideas. It belongs to concept development, before the rendered presentation and paper models shown below.
Red paper construction
The design decision
This physical paper model shows the folds, panels and volume beyond the digital render. It documents a constructed exploration; no handling-test result is recorded with this photograph.
A second paper model
The design decision
The blue model provides another physical construction to examine beside the red version. The photographs do not establish a tested winner or a final production material.
The container concept
The design decision
This render isolates the container so its shape and graphic treatment can be examined separately from the package. It is a visual proposal, not a demonstration of capacity or handling.
Presenting the package
The design decision
The package render shows the proposed outer form and presentation. The paper models that follow provide a separate view of the folded construction.
What I’m taking forward.
Strengthened product thinking by connecting user problems with form exploration, functional planning, and presentation. Improved user-focused ideation, practical problem-solving skills, compact design thinking, and functional design approach.
